What Crossfit Means To Me?
Ever since my freshman year in high school I loved to be in the gym, lifting weights and doing your traditional cardio workouts. I was your typical two-hour a day gym rat. However, it wasn’t until my dad told me about CrossFit that I discovered my real passion in the fitness industry. I have to admit, I was skeptical; I didn’t think that your body could really improve if you were not isolating certain muscle groups and running at least 25 minutes every day. But, I was curious, and over spring break during my junior year in college I tried one WOD, and I was hooked. I could not believe that a six minute work out just had me laying on the floor in a puddle of my own sweat. I dreamed about it every night, lifting heavy weights, doing butterfly pull-ups, learning muscle-ups. I wanted more; I wanted to live, breath, eat, sleep CrossFit. To me, CrossFit isn’t just something I do to stay in shape; it is my lifestyle, my sport, my passion. I finally found a community that understands me and shares the same love for fitness as I do. It changed my life, and I promise, if you try it and stick with it, it will change yours too.
